Jungle Safari

At the foot of the Himalayas a luxuriant tropical flood plain creates the perfect atmosphere for jungles teeming with wildlife. From the Gangetic fresh water Dolphin to the pre-historic 'Gharial', the mighty Elephant to the Reticulated Python the Jungles of Nepal offer a glimpse into the an ancient wild, and as you sit in the wooden watch tower 20 feet above the grasslands, the air may fill with the roar of a Tiger as herds of Deer and Antelope burst through the savanna. What sets Nepal apart from the jungles of India is the freedom of going for day walks inside the national forest with your guide.

Bardia National Park & Sukhla Phanta National Park:

This beautiful jungle first burst into the world scene when the legendary John Blashford-Snell and the famous actress Rula Lenska traipsed through the forest to document the legendary, 'Raja Guj" who they believed to be a hybrid mammoth. Bardia is home to a huge variety of flora and fauna, and you can spend days hiking through the jungle with your guide. Going for fishing trips is a fabulous way to see wildlife as well, since you spend the day floating down the great 'Karnali' fishing for giant 'Mahseer'. At the end of the day, you put your feet up at the safari bar and sip on an ice cold refreshing drink, while the animals serenade you. Sukhla Phanta is located in far-west Nepal and is home to one the largest herd of the gigantic swamp deer. Sukhla Phanta is rarely visited and the culture and sights are rustic and earthy. From here you can travel into India as its at the western most point of Nepal or travel north for a trek to the Gurans Himal and make a circuit carrying on to Khaptad and on to Rara then descending to Nepalgunj.
